World Environment Day

June 05, 2024

St. Joseph's School celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2024 with a special assembly. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr. Ragavendra A, Technical Officer at ICAR-NBAIR. Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Rohan D'Almeida SJ, welcomed the esteemed guest with the symbolic gesture of presenting a sapling. The theme of the day focused on illuminating the crucial issues of land restoration, combating desertification, and enhancing drought resilience. The event commenced with a solemn invocation of God's blessings through a prayer. This was followed by an innovative inauguration ceremony led by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Students underscored the significance of the day and fervently recited an environmental pledge. They vividly depicted the theme through a creative skit. Dr. Ragavendra enlightened the audience on the importance of the micro-environment, innovative bio-fertilizer methods, and the effective utilization of solar energy. Our principal then addressed the gathering, fervently urging the students to actively engage in tree planting and to ardently protect our natural surroundings.
