St. Joseph's School CBSE hosted a seminar on 6thAugust, 2024, on Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS), highlighting the advantages of studying in Japan, Kyoto's unique qualities, and KUAS's offerings.
The resource person was Mr. Alan Carvalho, Founder & CEO, White Oak Global Consult, Bangalore, Mr. Takeda Kiyoshi, Director of International Admissions, Kyoto University of Advanced Science, Kyoto, Japan and Ms. Megumi Paul, Managing Director, Focal Ed Ltd., Tokyo, Japan.
Japan was praised for its safety, efficient public transportation, comprehensive health insurance, and comfortable study environment. Kyoto was described to students as a hub of cultural heritage, academic excellence, and innovation. Founded in 1969, KUAS emphasizes practical experience in science and technology, career preparation, and offers free Japanese language courses and English programs for international students.
The seminar detailed KUAS's two main campuses: Uzumasa, known for its vibrant student life, and Kameoka, focused on advanced research. Academic programs include undergraduate courses in Engineering, Global Business, and Bio-Environmental Sciences, and postgraduate programs in Engineering. Capstone Projects provide practical experience in various fields.
The academic year includes a spring semester (April - June), summer break (July - August), fall semester (September - November), and winter break (December - January). The fee details of KUAS were discussed with the students. They enlightened the students about the unique features of KUAS including international dormitories, global partnerships, comprehensive student support and they provide diverse club activities. Mr. Takeda Kiyoshi said that they have a 98.2% employment rate in 2023. Scholarship opportunities are also available.
