Valedictory Ceremony

"The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with a Single Step" Graduation day, this sparks hope for the future and invites graduates to dream big. On 10th April, 2021, St Joseph's School, CBSE pledged to give the world over 35 committed young men and ladies, who walked out of the portal of their second home knowing that they would forever reap the benefits of what they had learnt in their time at St. Joseph's.
The ceremony began with the students being led into the auditorium by the School Captains, dignitaries and their comrades which was followed by the School song signifying that every Josephite who left this great institution would follow the motto Fide et Labore (Latin) Faith and Toil. As is tradition the auspicious ceremonial lamp was lit to ensure that the evening's ceremony had the Lord's blessings.
Our Principal Rev. Fr. Rohan D' Almeida SJ., expressed that this batch is unique because they have had the blended mode of learning as well as a virtual mode of learning which a rare opportunity was got.
The two representative of the valedictorian class expressed the strength gained, courage and confidence built by sharing their experience which they had treasured along the five golden years spent.
Luth Sanal from Class 9 replied to the valedictorians expressing his emotions and giving them a message as our goals achieved is expressed in the choices one makes and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility".
The Chief Guest Sri Narasimhappa, KAS, highlighted the importance of the values laid down by St Ingenious of Loyola, which is hauled till date in every walk of life. He mentioned CBSE as a gate way of success, importance of being serious from class 6 to 10 which forms the foundation in their educational progression and the subject knowledge gained during these years stand in good esteem in all competitive exams held.
Our Acting Rector Fr. John D'Souza said, dream dreams, dream big and face the challenges of the world like St. Ignesious. Graduation should serve as a launching pad for your achievements. As you'll leave today, you all tell the world you are ready to take on the next stage of life. The dream of your institution may become the dream of you.
As is tradition, the mantle of responsibility was passed on from Akhil Khare to Shreya S. to the new School Captain Designate, Shreyas S. who was given the honour of ensuring that the school flag flew high for the next year.
Just to make the graduation day more meaningful Mr. Praveen dedicated a video capturing the moments spent by Class -X students in their tenure in the school. Students cherished the moments through this soul stirring video.
Each student was presented a memento on this important day saying "You have reached a major milestone in your life. I am so proud of you for all that you have accomplished. Congratulations and best wishes for the future.
Our School vice Captain D. Antonette Mercy toasted the vote of thanks on behalf of all the valedictorians. Believing it is not joy that makes us grateful; it is gratitude that makes us joyful,"
The night ended with a beautiful sight -thirty five students standing with their lighted torches ready to step into the real world and light up any place they went. I end with a note "Take pride in how far you've come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don't forget to enjoy the journey."
