Good health is a precious gift and it ought to be cared for. At St Joseph’s School we emphasize on physical fitness and encourage our students to inculcate sporting values such as loyalty, team spirit, integrity, determination and courage to enable them to participate in various Sports tournaments with confidence. Apart from learning the intricacies of various games, sports and physical education, the students develop stamina & endurance which is essential to be able to get away from a sedentary way of life and develop the spirit of sportsmanship.

1st KTA OPEN KARNATAKA TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP 2021

Date 3rd 4th & 5th of December 2021 Organized by Karnataka Taekwondo Academy Supported by Karnataka Taekwondo Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Kasturba road Bengaluru - 560001 our school students participated in this championship.

3rd KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA CUP, BENGALURU NATIONAL LEVEL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP - 2021

Date 28th November 2021 in R Gundurao Sports Complex Jai Bheema Nagar, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.

SANJITH l From class 9C secured 2nd and 3rd place in National level Kannada Rajyotsava cup organized by Karnataka state karate Association.



1st PLACE IN 600mts RUNNING COMPETITION ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

Chaithnya R Manjunatha from Class 6 A secured 1st place in 600mts running competition on account of National Sports day 29th August was organised by Karnataka Olympics Association held in Sri Kanteerva Stadium.

Honoured by Karnataka Sports Minister Narayana Gowda and KOA President Govindraju and other guests.



2nd PLACE IN 60 Mt's & 300 Mt's AT BANGALORE URBAN DISTRICT ATHLETIC MEET IN SRI KANTEERAVA STADIUM

Chaithnya R Manjunatha from Class 6 A has secured 2nd place in 60 Mt's & 300 Mt's at Bangalore Urban District Athletic Meet, Organized by Karnataka Athletics Association held in Sri Kanteerva Stadium on 23rd and 24th October 2021.



ATHLETICS

The Students, namely Chithanya R Manjunath of class 7A, Hridhi Hazel Sunil of class 6C, Achelle Tricia Rodrigues of Class 8B, BhushaRaju of class 10A, Aldrich Christopher of class 10A, Ranier R Fernandes of class 10A, Parshva D Shah of class 9B, and Anuj N Gujjar of class 6A. Along with two PE teachers from our school, Ms Vijayalakshmi and Ms Roopa had travelled all the way to Mangalore to participate in this event. Competition was tough as students from all over Karnataka were present. Never the less, our athletic team participated well and we are pleased to announce that Chithanya R Manjunath of class 7A has secured the first prize for the 200 meters run and has been selected for Nationals which will be conducted soon. Bhushan Raju of class 10A secured the third prize among 56 students with a distance of 10.51 meters in Shot Putt and Parshva D Shah of class 9B secured the 3rd place among 240 students in the 100 meters run with a timing of 12.20 seconds.
We are proud of all the participants and prize winner and wish them all the best for their future endeavors



Taekwondo

On 7th of December 2022, our school took part in taekwondo south zone competition which was conducted by The Happy Valley School, BT Nakul of class 11B has secured the 2nd place U-19 87kgs weight category also has been selected for Nationals. Suvanesh D Mahindra of class 8B has secured the 3rd place U-14 53kgs weight category.




Anya Maria D'Souza of Class 6th A, placed 2nd overall in the state selections and will represent Karnataka at the Nationals in Kolkata in February.

She won 3 medals

Floor - Gold
Beam - Silver
She also placed 3rd in the Uneven bars and Vault but there is a rule that not more than 2 from a district can place

Abacus Competitions

On January 29, 2023, Ashrith G of class 1B has participated in the state level Abacus competition, held by IQ Plus Academy and has secured the 3rd rank in the level 3, Category 1. Ashrith competed with students across classes 1 to 3 and has been awarded with a momento and certificates for his achievements.
