Class XI Orientation Program

May 15, 2025

On May 15, 2025, St. Joseph's School had its Class XI Orientation Program, which welcomed the recently accepted students into the senior secondary stage of their academic careers. The orientation aimed to inspire the students to embrace this new chapter with concentration and zeal while introducing them to the school's standards, culture, and resources.
Aanya, the Master of Ceremony, welcomed everyone and established the tone for the day before the program started. Ahana led a sincere prayer, asking for blessings for a prosperous next school year.
A traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony symbolized the dispelling of darkness and the illumination of knowledge. The ceremony was graced by Sister Sheena, Vice Principal, Ms. Nirmala, Academic Coordinator and one student representative each from the Science and Commerce streams. Senior student Ms. Arpitha welcomed her students with warmth and friendliness. She made a brief motivational speech and talked about her own senior year experience, highlighting the significance of focus, perseverance, and dedication to academics as the keys to success.
The vice principal, Sr. Sheena, welcomed the incoming class and gave a thought-provoking speech about the significance of moving from school to the pre-university level. In order to foster their overall growth, she urged students to find a balance between their involvement in extracurricular activities and their academic success.
Students were given an introduction to the school's campus, facilities, and staff through a thorough video tour. It displayed the cutting-edge facilities, labs, classrooms, and learning areas. The teaching staff, their credentials, and their commitment to holistic education were also presented to the students. Ms. Nirmala, the Academic Coordinator, gave a comprehensive presentation on:
- Stream-wise subject combinations
- Curriculum structure and marks distribution
- Internal assessments and compulsory project work
- Evaluation patterns, exam schedules, and important academic links
A graceful welcome dance by Ms. Trisha added a cultural touch and vibrancy to the second half of the event. After which Mr. Martin gave a thorough introduction on school rules to the children. During his session, he did:
- Code of behaviour and school regulations
- ID card processes, uniform policy, and the rigorous no-cell phone and smartwatch regulation
- Office hours and protocols to satisfy the principle

Mr. Antonio focused on three main issues throughout his powerful motivational session: - Setting goals: Assisting students in establishing specific, attainable objectives for both their personal and academic life - Emphasising the value of prioritising, planning, and refraining from procrastinating in time management - Teaching pupils about the risks of cybercrime, safe online conduct, and responsible digital citizenship is known as cyber safety awareness. Larren gave a vote of thanks at the end of the program, thanking all of the speakers, organisers, and attendees for contributing to the event's significance and enrichment. As the Class XI students begin an exciting new chapter in their academic adventure at St. Joseph's School, the orientation program gave them motivation and information.
