Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

July 27, 2025

On 27th July 2025, St. Joseph's School came alive with joy, devotion, and a spirit of deep reflection as it celebrated the grand feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the visionary founder of the Society of Jesus. The day unfolded like a spiritual pilgrimage, drawing hearts toward a higher purpose. The theme, Pilgrims of Hope, which was declared by Late Pope Francis SJ, during the silver Jubilee, resonated powerfully throughout the celebration, capturing the very essence of Ignatian resilience, purposeful living, and unwavering faith. From the stirring liturgy to the uplifting messages, every moment invited the community to rediscover the flame of hope that Ignatius carried through his extraordinary journey - a flame that continues to inspire generations. The solemn concelebrated Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Rudolph Raj Pinto, Secretary for the CCBI Commission for Liturgy, and Rev. Fr. Joseph D'Souza, Rector and the 'Heads of St. Joseph's Institutions'. The Eucharistic celebration, rich in symbolism and scripture, invited the faithful to walk the path of hope, much like Ignatius did during his pilgrim journey of transformation. The staff celebration unfolded with warmth and festive spirit, graced by the presence of Fr. Ronald Pais, SJ, who served as the esteemed chief guest for the occasion. Heads of institutions, along with staff members and their families, gathered in a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and joy. In his inspiring address, Fr. Pais emphasized the enduring relevance of Ignatian spirituality in cultivating hope, commitment, and a sense of community within educational spaces. He encouraged everyone to embody the Ignatian spirit by consciously performing two value-based acts each day. Rector Fr. Joseph D'Souza also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the importance of living out Ignatian values in our daily lives with faith and purpose. His heartfelt message stirred the audience, inspiring all to continue walking as true Pilgrims of Hope. The celebration continued with enthusiastic participation in lively entertainment, fun-filled games, a creative figure formation symbolizing Ignatian values, balloon-bursting activities, and joyful moments that brought everyone closer together. The feast day was a vibrant reminder of our call to serve with faith and toil, rooted in love, guided by discernment, and walking always as Pilgrims of Hope.
